Costa Brava

This Easter come and discover the treasures hidden in the Costa Brava!

19 March 2022

After two very complicated years due to the pandemic generated by the Covid-19, it seems that little by little, normality is coming!

That is why this year we invite you to come and enjoy the best of the Costa Brava in one of our magnificent villas.

Easter vacations are synonymous of time for you, time to do everything we have not been able to do in the last two years. Time to dive, time to enjoy the camins de ronda, time to taste the best dishes, time to visit museums… in short, time to live unforgettable moments with family or friends!

Today we want to propose a series of recommendations to make the most of these days of celebration!

The first stop will be in Valls. On Holy Thursday, Verges is an obligatory stop because they represent one of the classics of Easter: the procession! You will have to go very early, because from 7 am the village is filled with hundreds of people who want to see this unique spectacle that represents the life and death of Jesus Christ and you can no longer circulate.

In addition, you will have to stay until the evening, because you cannot leave this town without seeing the ancient Dance of Death with skeletons dancing reminding us that our time will come.

The second unmissable stop are the camins de ronda. Walking along them you can admire the fascinating landscape of the Costa Brava. The most outstanding are the sections that pass through Llafranc and Calella to Palamós or those that start from the coves of Sant Antoni de Calonge and reach Playa de Aro.

The third stop is the Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, located at the port of La Selva. It is a monastic complex of large dimensions, formed by the church (Romanesque style), the cloister and the various monastic outbuildings arranged around it. The first documentation of the existence of the monastery dates from the year 878.

The last stop is the Dalí Museum, which needs no introduction, it is the last great work of Salvador Dalí. In fact, it was conceived and designed by the artist with the aim of offering visitors an authentic experience inviting them to enter his surreal and particular world.

So now you know, this Easter do not hesitate and come and enjoy unforgettable days in one of our magnificent villas located in the heart of the Costa Brava!

If you have not yet planned your getaway, or you have already done so and are going to visit the Costa Brava, we recommend that you continue reading.

The Costa Brava begins in Sa Palomera of Blanes, a most beautiful coastal town on the Catalan coast and ends in Portbou. This territory has sea and mountains to leave no one indifferent, and you can also find our wonderful Villas.

Due to these important dates, some of the towns in Catalonia are preparing to welcome the Christmas fairs and let the magic of this spread through its most hidden corners.

Currently if we visit Vic, we can find one of the most popular Christmas fairs in the area. Handmade products, Christmas gifts, local cuisine … Everything you need for these important dates you will find here.

Espinelves is another of the towns where the fir fair stands out, perhaps it is a little further from the coast, but it is a must for all those who love Christmas, history and charming towns. You can also find handmade products, zero kilometer products, toys for the little ones, decorative details …

Finally, and what matters most during these dates, is to enjoy the family, therefore, our villas are ready to receive you. They also have a capacity for up to 16 people. Although it is important to respect the restrictions that have currently been implemented and not exceed the maximum number of 10 people. All you need these holidays is to spend them in one of our Villas, Coastal Villas is your best Christmas gift!

The gastronomy of the Costa Brava

26 March 2021

Costa Brava is one of the favorites gastronomic and enoturism destinations among tourists from around the world. The combination of the sea and the mountains makes our land a unique place that, aggregated with the Mediterranean diet and wines, puts together an exclusive lifestyle. Today we are going to tell you more about these aspects.

Our Cook

Catalonia is a gastronomic paradise with a great variety of flavors that will leave you speechless. Its weather conditions together with the location, make its raw material have a high quality. Many countries of the world are interested in importing our exclusive products to their countries, so their people can try them. Due to the variety of these products, exquisite dishes such as “esqueixada”, “escalivada” and even delicious sauces can be prepared that will not leave anyone indifferent.

It is not surprising that thanks to these high-quality foods, UNESCO proclaimed the Mediterranean diet as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity for its health benefits. This has also contributed to the appearance of different culinary geniuses with Michelin stars have appeared such as Ferran Adria or the Roca brothers, owners of the Celler de Can Roca, where you can taste their magnificent dishes.

Our Enogastronomy

For centuries and thanks to the influences of our ancestors, wine and cava have formed a very important part of the history of Catalonia. “Terres del Ebre” is one of the most relevant catalan locations with regard to the origins of this product, where you can also learn and taste a wide variety of high quality wines.

On the other hand, many tourists decide to live a different and unique experience where wine is the star. In some of these activities you have the possibility of trying this product together with the raw material from which it’s obtained, the vineyard. If you prefer, you can also sleep in a winery and there are even specific wine routes where you can discover all its secrets

If you are one of those people who wants to enjoy a delicious dish, serve with a good wine, Costa Brava is the perfect destination for you. Besides, you can find one of our villas near one of these quality restaurants. Taste Catalonia through its gastronomy. We are waiting for you!

Routes along the Costa Brava

19 February 2021

As many of you know, the Costa Brava is a magical place full of places to visit, there are different ways of approaching the towns that make it up, one of them is through routes. Before knowing which route we want to do, it is important to highlight what we want, if we prefer to do the route with the family, if we will do it on foot or if we prefer to do it by car …

One of the routes that we want to recommend to you is the one we can do around Blanes on foot, where you can also find some of our Villas. The route begins at Sa Palomera, this stone stands out for its great magnitude, and if we wish we can go up to get good views of the town. As we move on along the seafront, will be closer to reaching the Sant Joan castle mountain and we will get closer to the fishing and sports port. In this area, we will observe different bars and restaurants to be able to have a drink if we wish. Once we have reached this point, we have two options, either go up the mountain to reach the castle or go through the center of town. Either of the two options is valid, although the easiest is to go up the castle mountain. When we get there, we will have a wonderful view of the entire town, the beach, the seafront, and Sa Palomera. To leave the castle, we will go towards Cala Sant Francesc, we will find the Marimurtra Botanical Garden where you can find a great diversity of plants and a viewpoint that overlooks the Sa Forcanera beach. After the botanical garden, we head towards Cala Sant Francesc, where we can enjoy the food at the Cala Bona restaurant and all the advantages that this beach has.

Another of the routes that we can do is the one that encompasses the beaches of Lloret. This route starts from Cala Canyelles and ends in the Santa Cristina beach that is 11 kilometers long and includes many of the most relevant beaches of Lloret de Mar. The next point is Cala Trons, where we can observe a great variety of plants and marine fauna, one of the quietest coves that we can find in Lloret de Mar. If we follow the coastal path and leave the castle behind, we will reach Sa Caleta, which is characterized by being small and welcoming different boats in summer. The Big Beach of Lloret de Mar will be the next one we will find, one of the most popular. The beach that continues is that of Fenals, quite similar to the previous one but a little smaller. Before reaching the last point, we will pass through the Sa Boadella cove, the only virgin beach in Lloret that will leave us fascinated. If we follow this route we will reach the last point, Cala Santa Cristina, emblematic for its location at the foot of the Hermitage of Santa Cristina.

These are two examples of routes that can be carried out, but there are many more. We advise you with the accommodation, offering you the villa that best suits your needs and that is closer to the places of your interests. Do you dare to discover the Costa Brava in a unique and unforgettable way?
